Welcome to the YA and Children's Book Podcast (for Adults)! Our show is hosted by two book enthusiasts: a writer (Sarah Hansen) and a teacher (Terri La Rue). Together, we are rereading and discussing the books that shaped us. If you’ve ever wondered which Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants character you are, why horse girls get so many books written about them, or how Stuart Little's human mother gave birth to a mouse, then this is the show for you. Join us as we relive childhood, one book at a time. New episodes every other week!

In our first episode, we discuss Roald Dahl's children's classic, Matilda! We explore why this book has remained so popular since it was originally published in 1988 (spoiler: kids love weird stories). We also discuss the messiness of Dahl's legacy, how the Dursleys are knockoffs of the the Wormwoods, and why Miss Honey was the original Tiny House Hunter. Terri does her British accent. Our apologies to any actual British people who are listening.
